Amazon Games has promised that news for their upcoming new Tomb Raider and The Lord Of The Rings games are coming in the near future.

In an interview with Variety, Amazon Games vice president Christoph Hartmann said:

“It’s not going to be tomorrow, but it’s not too far away,” Harmann explained. “As I said, we’re getting into a much more regular cadence of shipping games. That’s all I’m allowed to tell you right now.

It’s all about quality. You don’t want to just be rushed out. That’s doesn’t work. It has to be triple-A quality, because the bar is so high.”

It was originally announced back in December 2022 that Amazon Games would be publishing the next Tomb Raider game, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. Crystal Dynamics also developed the last three Tomb Raider games; 2013’s Tomb Raider, 2015’s Rise Of The Tomb Raider and 2018’s Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. Their last game was 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers, but the less said about that, the better.

The as-yet-untitled new Tomb Raider game was originally announced in April 2022, and is a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft’s story in the Tomb Raider series. It includes all the elements that have made Tomb Raider one of the most revered franchises in gaming, giving players control of the confident and multidimensional hero Lara Croft in an environment that rewards exploration and creative pathfinding, with mind-bending puzzles to solve, and a wide variety of enemies to face and overcome. Crystal Dynamics is using Unreal Engine 5 to take storytelling to the next level, in the biggest, most expansive Tomb Raider game to date.

As for the The Lord Of The Rings games, we still have no details on who’s making them. Hopefully, we will learn something about them in the near future. Stay tuned on Kakuchopurei!
