Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational Video Trailer Highlights Major Milestone
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer Moonton just published a new video promoting its upcoming female team-only tournament on the grandest of stages: the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The new video trailer brings up the fact that the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational 2024 tournament is one of the biggest-ever of its kind, with prize pools worth US$500,000. The latest promo material for the half-a-mil tournament highlights renowned MLBB female team captains like Team Vitality’s Vivian “Vivi” Indrawaty (a.k.a the Indonesian Mother of Tanks in the MLBB esports circuit), Smart Omega Empress’ Mery “Meraaay” Vivero, and Gaimin Gladiators Homegirls’ Nurul Effa “Fafau” Fauzana.
Check out the video and tournament overview below. The tournament starts from 24 July and ends on 27 July.
MWI 2024 is set to feature new faces and old rivals from 12 international teams that have the potential to raise the level of competitive play for MLBB Esports. Team Vitality, who had recently acquired Bigetron Era’s winning roster, will be joining Gaimin Gladiators Homegirls and Tidal Legends Gaming in Group D. On the other hand, Smart Omega Empress will be with Net Angels and Dreammax Girls in Group B.
Cambodia’s CFU Serendipity will join Falcons Vega and Cloud 9 in Group A, while ZinoLilies, Victory Song Gamers, and Falcons Vega Mena will be in Group C. Starting from the Group Stage, the teams will play a single round-robin, BO2 match series, from 24 to 25 July. The top two teams of each group will proceed to the Playoffs Stage, while the team from each group with the lowest points will end their Playoffs contention.
A playoff draw will be conducted where the four top teams from each group will be placed together into pool 1, while the four 2nd-placed teams will be placed into pool 2. The Playoffs Stage starts from 26 to 27 July. The first day of the Playoffs Stage will be in a single elimination BO3 format. On the other hand, the second day will be in a single-elimination BO5 match series.
