Nobody Wants To Die Is A Futuristic Noir First-Person Thriller That’s Launching Soon

Publisher Plaion and developer Critical Hit Games will be launching an upcoming first-person adventure game steeped in scifi dystopian goodness, but as a cerebral gumshoe figure.

Nobody Wants To Die is an upcoming first-person adventure game set in a dystopian future where you solve investigations as a private eye. The setting? New York 2329, looking pretty stunning and possibly immersive.

Here are some press release quotes about the game from Critical Hit CEO/lead game designer Grzegorz Golen, detailing the title:

“Our priority is to deliver a great narrative and graphical experience in our dystopian world. In Nobody Wants to Die, we give the player an opportunity to investigate a killer and uncover the dark secrets of the city, using the innovative in-game tools and their own moral compass as a guide.

It’s like two pieces of a puzzle that fit so well together. The dynamic and spectacular investigations the player can conduct sets a new bar for in-game narratives and cinematics. We aimed to reflect the maximum level of realism supported by exceptional visual effects to immerse players in New York, 2329″

Key features & trailer are below:

  • Welcome to New York 2329: Experience a noir adventure in an alternate future of New York City in 2329; technology has advanced to offer humans eternal life, allowing consciousness to be stored in memory banks or transferred from one body to another. That is, if you can afford the subscription.
  • Lead the Investigation: See through the eyes of Mortality Department Detective James Karra on his hunt for a serial killer who targets the city’s elite citizens. Investigate crime scenes using his time manipulation augmentation and advanced technology to reconstruct events leading up to each murder and uncover clues that lead to the horrifying truth behind the murders.
  • Noir Immersion: Lose yourself in a dystopian future through this meaningful and original interactive detective story, that explores the dangers of transhumanism and immortality. In a world of eternal life and vanishing morality, you, a hardened detective, must navigate the lines of right and wrong in a society where death is a distant memory.
  • A Stunning Narrative Adventure: Utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5, Nobody Wants to Die pushes the boundaries of storytelling, combining photorealistic graphics and a distinctly unique narrative experience.

Nobody Wants To Die will be out on 17 July for PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5.
