Octopath Traveler Series Reaches 4 Million Units Sold Globally
By Ali'sha Harris|June 6, 2024|0 Comment
Square Enix recently announced great news for the Octopath Traveler series fans, highlighting its remarkable success and expanded availability. Since its initial launch in 2018, the franchise, which includes the original Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II, has achieved a significant sales landmark. By June 2023, it has sold over 4 million copies worldwide, combining both physical and digital sales.
PC Game Pass subscribers have additional reasons to celebrate, as the entire Octopath series is now available on this platform. Both entries are notable for their distinct worlds and the choice of eight unique protagonists. This setup offers a rich tapestry of stories and Path Actions that players can explore, allowing for personalized adventures depending on the characters chosen.
In celebration of this achievement and to mark the series’ universal availability, Team Asano has released a free update for Octopath Traveler II. This update introduces an ‘Extra Battle’ mode, which becomes available after defeating the final boss of the last chapter. This mode presents challenging battles against formidable foes, including main characters from the first Octopath Traveler, offering an exciting new challenge for enthusiasts. The update has been rolled out across all platforms starting today.
The Octopath Traveler series is available for individual purchase or as a bundle on all platforms. Additionally, PlayStation Plus members are entitled to a 34% discount on any Octopath Traveler game purchases. This special offer runs from today until June 20, 2024.
The Octopath Traveler series is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
