Zenless Zone Zero will have Smaller Launch Roster Compared to other HoYoverse Games

HoYoverse is well known for the variety of characters in each of its popular gacha games: Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact. Well, that would not be the case for the upcoming Zenless Zone Zero.

In an interview conducted by PC Gamer with Zenless Zone Zero producer Li Zhenyu, the team is aiming for “quality over quantity” when it comes to the game’s characters, emphasizing that they seek to “make [the combat] as original as possible.” Once the game launches early next month, the action RPG will release 15 agents, notably less compared to Genshin Impact, which had 22 characters, and Honkai Star Rail with 23 characters.

However, this won’t be long until the agents’ numbers match up with other HoYoverse games, stating that “the quantity will match Genshin and Star Rail.” With over 36 million people pre-registered for Zenless Zone Zero, the company is putting more effort when it comes to the agents, particularly “working on refinements to make the movement more delicate”.

Zenless Zone Zero will launch for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android devices on 4 July 2024.
