Anime and Tite Kubo fans haven’t had a proper Bleach game since 2011. While the mobile games like Bleach Brave Souls is fine and all, the anime IP hasn’t had anything proper on PC and consoles for so long. At least until now.

Bandai Namco has announced a new Bleach game based on the then-hit anime and manga series about Soul Reapers by Tite Kubo. The new game is called Bleach Rebirth of Souls and it’s coming soon to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. No release window has been announced yet.

The game is published by Bandai Namco, and it’s being developed by Tamsoft Corporation, who are known for the Melty Blood series. Playable characters in the upcoming fighter (from the trailer and official Steam page screenshots) include Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Renji Abarai

As you can tell from the gameplay trailer, Bleach Rebirth of Souls will be a 3D fighting game, which is a common genre used for anime game adaptations. And half the time they don’t end up playing so well. Story-wise, the game will be adapting the earlier arcs where main character Ichigo Kurosaki is getting used to his inherited Soul Reaper powers, and eventually squaring off against Soul Society, transforming the show from “monster of the week” material to all-out shonen nonsense akin to your Dragon Ball and Narutos.
