Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for HBO GO August 2024 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:
Director David Gordon Green (Halloween trilogy) revisits this terrifying story that broke box office records, won two Academy Awards® and influenced the trajectory of horror films. When a 12-year-old girl becomes possessed by a mysterious demonic entity, her father desperately searches for help, finding aid with someone whose daughter survived a similar possession in the 1970s. Starring Leslie Odom Jr. and Ellen Burstyn, The Exorcist: Believer will also be available on HBO (Astro Ch 411/ Unifi TV 401) on Saturday, August 17.
Premieres Saturday, August 10 on HBO GO.
In season three of the original drama series, Industry, Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin, Robert, and Eric find themselves front and center in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Sir Henry Muck, in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government. Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig. Stars Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Harry Lawtey, Kit Harington and more.

Randy prefers to keep to himself, but when his coworker Benson goes on a sudden and violent rampage, he is forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past to survive. Stars Kyle Gallner, Johnny Berchtold, Liza Weil and more.

The HBO Original series, City of God: The Fight Rages On is an adapted continuation?of the literary work by Paulo Lins, and will follow the story?of?its characters, starting with the work?of?the photographer Buscapé. Set in the early 2000s, the series includes excerpts from the film as flashbacks to reconstruct the protagonists’ memories. Produced by O2 Filmes, this new six-episode Brazilian production takes place two decades after the events?of?the highly acclaimed film?City?of?God. The series stars Alexandre Rodrigues, Thiago Martins, Roberta Rodrigues and more.
