Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake Set for October Release
By Ali'sha Harris|July 12, 2024|0 Comment
Koei Tecmo and developer Kou Shibusawa have officially announced the release date for the upcoming strategy game set in the Three Kingdoms period. Originally slated for an early 2024 release, the game has been delayed to allow for additional time to refine and enhance the remake.
This revamped version is set to introduce new content, offering players the most comprehensive Romance of the Three Kingdoms experience to date. The number of playable officers has been expanded from approximately 600 to 1,000, resulting in the discovery of new events and relationships between officers, promising a more immersive experience.
The “All Periods Scenarios” feature has also been upgraded, boasting over 55 scenarios, including fictional ones, marking the largest number of scenarios available in the series’ history. From the twilight of the Eastern Han dynasty to the waning years of the Three Kingdoms era, players have the freedom to select any officer and time period, leading to a multitude of unique combinations for each player’s experience.
Through the updated “All Officers Play” feature, players can assume control of influential rulers and their loyal officers, or opt to join a wandering army as a free officer. This presents the opportunity to explore the Three Kingdoms distinctively, thanks to an array of new features and a diverse range of alliances established both on and off the battlefield.
Employing a blend of 2D and 3D graphics, the game showcases both new and nostalgic visual effects, alongside numerous new officer portraits exclusively created for this title. With the largest number of officers and scenarios ever featured in a remake, players can anticipate experiencing the most grand military drama in the history of the Three Kingdoms series.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake is scheduled for release on 24 October 2024 and will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
