Unknown 9: Awakening Showcases New Gameplay Trailer with Commentary

Bandai Namco and developer Reflector Entertainment have released a new gameplay trailer for their long-awaited narrative action-adventure game, Unknown 9: Awakening. The video showcases new footage of the protagonist Haroona’s set of supernatural abilities, with details and commentary being provided by creative director Christophe Rossignol.

The abilities demonstrated include Stepping, which allows players to temporarily possess enemies, Ripple, which lures enemies towards environmental hazards, using a Shroud to become temporarily invisible, and telekinetically manipulating foes. Players can use environmental hazards to inflict damage on enemies. These abilities can be upgraded and even unlocked through the Skill Tree.

The trailer also features stealth gameplay, melee combat, and various locations such as the jungles of India and the gothic landscapes of 19th-century Portugal, which players will explore during the game. Plus, insights into different enemy types and exploration opportunities within the game’s vast world.

In Unknown 9: Awakening, players take on the role of Haroona, a courageous female Quaestor with the rare ability to enter a parallel dimension called the Fold. As Haroona embarks on her quest for hidden knowledge, she must learn to harness the mysterious powers of the Fold while facing danger from a splinter faction known as the Ascendants, who seek to exploit the Fold’s power to alter human history.

Unknown 9: Awakening will launch for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam in the fall of 2024.
