Patch 1.12 addresses specific player-reported issues, such as unresponsive AI in certain scenarios and frequent weapon dropping. 2K24 also introduces new match types in Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, Casket Match, and Gauntlet Match. A four-player update is coming to Backstage Brawls. The core wrestling system is being enhanced with the introduction of Super Finishers and a new minigame centred around trading blows. The MyGM mode will be expanding to include more match types, trades between brands, and a new level-up system for drafting superstars. MyRise, MyFaction, and Universe will all return with new features and updates.

The game features different modes, including MyFACTION, where players can build and manage their wrestling factions, participate in events, and earn rewards. Plus, the game features the popular MyCAREER mode, allowing players to create a personalized wrestler and guide their journey through the ranks of WWE, starting from NXT to the main roster. The Universe mode provides a sandbox experience, giving players control over WWE shows, rivalries, and events.
