Casual Adventure Game Shin Chan Set for Global Switch & PC Release

Neos Corporation and h.a.n.d. Inc have revealed that the upcoming Shin Chan video game, titled Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town, is set to be released worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.

Initially released in Japan in February 2024, the casual adventure game follows the Nohara family as they travel to the Akita Prefecture, where Hiroshi takes on a new job. The family settles in a small village near Hiroshi’s parents’ home, renting a traditional Japanese farmhouse and embracing a new rural lifestyle. Shinnosuke’s grandfather, Ginnosuke, teaches him various activities such as catching bugs and fishing, while the family enjoys daily meals together. However, the story takes a turn when Shinnosuke follows a soot-covered Shiro onto a train, leading him to Coal Town, a place seemingly frozen in the Showa Era.

Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town offers a range of activities in Akita and Coal Town, including fishing, bug-catching, farming, crafting, cooking, and participating in trolley races. Players can customize their trolleys with unique tracks and parts to enhance speed and manoeuvring.

This second entry features improved visuals and will support multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish-Spain, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Limited Run Games is set to launch a physical version of Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town for the Switch in the United States and Europe. This edition will be available for pre-order for a limited time this fall through the Limited Run Games online store.

Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town is scheduled for release on 24 October 2024 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
