Ghibli-Inspired Fantasy Adventure Game Has A Release Date
By Ali'sha Harris|August 5, 2024|0 Comment
Mika and The Witch’s Mountain seems to be a game inspired by the world of “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” a 1989 Studio Ghibli film, about a witch that decides to go postal.
Developed by Chibig and Nukefist, the game promises a delightful “mini-open world” experience, where players take on the role of Mika, a witch navigating the enchanting small island on a magic broomstick while delivering packages and exploring the island’s wonders.
This coming-of-age tale brings players to the top of the mountain through a story of effort, friendship, and community. Mika will deliver packages to the villagers all over the island and they will rate her service. That way she will earn money to get new brooms with unique flying capabilities.
The Early Access version of the game will feature the complete main storyline, comprising 36 deliveries and 18 sidequests, offering approximately five hours of gameplay with 18 main characters. Players can customize Mika with various outfits and personalize her broom with charms and trails.
Excitingly, the developers have confirmed that a future free update will be rolled out, with features like petting animals, fishing minigame, Churro Express minigame, and new broom tricks. Plus, new sidequests and dungeons will be added, providing a deeper exploration of the mountain’s hidden secrets.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 21 August 2024.
