The first-ever Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason at the 2024 Riyadh Esports World Cup saw the KPL Dream Team emerge victorious, securing a share of the US$3 million prize pool and a spot in the upcoming Championship in Indonesia. This event, the start of a three-year partnership with the Esports World Cup, showcased thrilling esports action.
The KPL Dream Team dominated the competition, culminating in a decisive 3-0 victory against LGD Gaming in the best-of-five series. The team’s star player, Yinuo, earned the FMVP title with outstanding performances, particularly showcasing the potential of the newly introduced hero, Augran.
James Yang, Senior Director of Level Infinite Global Esports Center, praised the event, stating:
“The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason at the Esports World Cup was a masterclass in esports competition. The best teams from around the globe showcased their talent at the biggest esports festival ever. We look forward to bringing more Honor of Kings tournaments globally and creating great memories.”
With the Riyadh event behind us, the focus now shifts to the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship in October. This prestigious event will feature the top 16 teams from around the world, including qualifiers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Türkiye, Brazil, the Middle East, North Africa, America, Europe, and the Pacific. These teams will compete for a US$1 million prize pool.
The 2024 Honor of Kings Championship will serve as the grand finale of the Honor of Kings Global Invitational Series. Announced in February 2024 alongside a US$15 million commitment to the growth of the international esports ecosystem, the series has included major events such as the S1 tournament in Turkey, S2 in Malaysia, the Midseason in Riyadh, and the upcoming Championship in Indonesia. Additionally, Honor of Kings has launched the Open Series, providing a pathway to professional esports for aspiring players.
