SEGA August 2024 Special Sale: Huge Discounts on Fan-Favourites
By Alisha Alix|August 14, 2024|0 Comment
SEGA has announced the SEGA Publisher August Sale, which is currently taking place on the PlayStation Store. This sale offers a fantastic opportunity for players of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 to purchase selected titles without breaking the bank.
Get ready to score major discounts on popular games from now until 28 August 2024. With titles from the Yakuza series, Football Manager, and more up for grabs! Don’t miss out on this chance to expand your game collection!
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the franchise, SEGA offers players a 60% discount for the football strategy management game. Developed by Sports Interactive, immerse yourself in the intricacies of managing a football team and strive for excellence. In this game, players can refine their tactics, uncover hidden gems in the form of wonderkids, and acquire the winning edge necessary to take their team to the top.
It is the 20th game in the Football Manager series, and the first to launch in Japan. Also joining the Football Manager line-up is Netflix, which is now the exclusive home of Football Manager 2024 Mobile.
The game boasts several enhancements that elevate the overall gameplay experience, particularly in key areas such as set pieces, man management, squad building, Matchday, and more. The football management sim is commonly described as the closest thing to being a football manager than actually being one.
Yakuza 0, the sixth installment in the Yakuza series, serves as a prequel to the original game, introducing the iconic characters Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. The game’s storytelling is exceptional, offering a compelling pace and a mix of intense highs and devastating lows. It also incorporates great comedic timing and the endearing charm characteristic of the Yakuza series.
The narrative of the game is split between the two main characters, with their seemingly separate storylines eventually coming together in a highly satisfying manner. As expected from the series, Yakuza 0 is filled with quirky substories, adding to the overall craziness of the game. Additionally, the mini games, including bowling, karaoke, pool, and dancing, contribute to the fun and provide an enjoyable break from the main storyline. If you’re a fan of JRPGs, Yakuza 0 comes highly recommended.
Sonic Forces, released in 2017, is an exhilarating platformer that allows players to team up with the iconic Blue Blur and his friends to take on the villainous Dr. Eggman. Packed with action, the game offers intense challenges, heart-stopping excitement, and unforgettable experiences that solidify its position as one of the most cherished installments in the Sonic series.
At its essence, Sonic Forces is a traditional side-scrolling platformer that fuses high-speed running sequences with tactical combat scenarios. Players can take command of three distinct characters: Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, and the Custom Hero Character (CHC), each with their own unique abilities and strengths tailored to overcome specific hurdles encountered during gameplay.
Although Sonic Forces initially received mixed reviews, it has since cultivated a dedicated fan base, capturing the attention of both casual players and dedicated Sonic fans alike.
Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shining is a classic 2D fighting game created by Studio Saizensen, the developers behind Blade Stranger. In the game, players can switch between two characters each round and call upon them for combos, allowing for smooth transitions between attacks. The game also features EX attacks and support assists, adding depth to the gameplay.
With a total of 21 characters from Sega’s Shining series, the game offers a diverse selection. While most of the visuals consist of 3D models, the animation is fluid, the characters are well-designed, and the backgrounds are visually appealing. Additionally, the game features catchy retro soundtracks. The storyline revolves around each character’s quest to collect all seven orbs. Once a character has gathered all seven orbs, they must confront a shadow version of themselves and will be granted their deepest desires as a reward.
In the Shining series, the latest addition is Shining Resonance Refrain, a revamped version of the PlayStation 3 game Shining Resonance, which was initially only available in Japan. Shining Resonance Refrain features enhanced graphics, providing a visual experience at 1080p resolution, and encompasses all the downloadable content (DLC) from the original game.
The remastered edition introduces a new gameplay mode called Refrain, offering fresh content and unlocking two additional party members: Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas. The game is currently available in both English and Chinese versions as part of the SEGA Sale, allowing fans to choose their preferred language.
