VALORANT Champions 2024 – Day 12: Heretics & Leviatán Secure Their Semifinals Spots

Day 12 of VALORANT Champions 2024 delivered intense and thrilling matches as Team Heretics and Leviatán emerged victorious, securing their places in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. The journey to the VCT 2024 trophy continues to heat up as these teams demonstrated exceptional skill, strategy, and resilience in their respective matchups.

Leviatán vs. G2 Esports

In a highly anticipated showdown, Leviatán proved their mettle with a commanding 2-0 sweep over G2 Esports, sending the latter into the Lower Bracket. Leviatán’s performance in this series not only highlighted their tactical prowess but also solidified their position as strong contenders for the championship.

Map 1: Icebox – The first map, Icebox, was a nail-biter from start to finish. Leviatán’s strategic execution and composure under pressure allowed them to edge out a 16-14 victory. G2 Esports fought valiantly, pushing the game to its limits, but Leviatán’s well-coordinated plays and crucial round wins made the difference. The close nature of the match kept fans on the edge of their seats, with both teams showcasing top-tier gameplay.

Map 2: Abyss – Leviatán carried the momentum from their Icebox win into the second map, Abyss. Here, they delivered a dominant performance, securing a decisive 13-5 victory. From the outset, Leviatán took control of the map, leaving G2 Esports struggling to find a foothold. The team’s aggressive yet calculated playstyle overwhelmed G2 Esports, allowing Leviatán to close out the series in a convincing fashion. With this victory, Leviatán not only advanced to the Upper Bracket Semifinals but also sent a clear message to their future opponents.

Despite their loss, G2 Esports displayed moments of brilliance, reminding everyone why they are considered one of the top teams in the league. However, as their head coach, Josh Lee, pointed out, the team fell short of their own expectations. “We were confident going into Icebox, but the nerves and a few missteps in execution cost us. We didn’t adjust quickly enough, and by the time we did, it was too late,” Lee commented after the match. This loss pushes G2 Esports into the Lower Bracket, where they’ll need to regroup and fight their way back for a chance at the title.

Team Heretics vs. Fnatic

In another captivating match, Team Heretics faced off against Fnatic, securing their own 2-0 victory and advancing to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. The win sets the stage for a highly anticipated clash between Team Heretics and Leviatán.

Map 1: Lotus – Team Heretics came out of the gate strong on the first map, Lotus, delivering a dominant 13-3 victory over Fnatic. Their performance was clinical, with each player contributing to a flawless team effort that left Fnatic struggling to keep up. Team Heretics’ early round wins set the pace, and they never looked back, systematically dismantling Fnatic’s defences and securing the map with ease.

Map 2: Abyss – The second map, Abyss, was a much closer contest. Fnatic, determined to force a third map, put up a fierce fight. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading rounds and showcasing their best strategies. In the end, however, Team Heretics managed to edge out a 14-12 victory, thanks to a combination of clutch plays and solid teamwork. This win not only closed out the series but also demonstrated Team Heretics’ ability to perform under pressure, securing their place in the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Fnatic’s performance, especially on Abyss, highlighted their resilience and skill, even in the face of defeat. While they couldn’t turn the series around, their effort was commendable, and they remain a formidable force in the competition.

As Day 12 concluded, the stage is now set for an exciting Upper Bracket Semifinals, where Team Heretics will face Leviatán. Both teams have shown incredible form throughout the tournament, and their upcoming clash promises to be a must-watch event. With a spot in the grand finals on the line, fans and analysts alike are eager to see which team will rise to the occasion and continue their journey toward becoming the VALORANT Champions 2024.

The road to the championship is fraught with challenges, and the competition is fiercer than ever. As the tournament progresses, the stakes are higher, the pressure is mounting, and only the best will survive. Day 12’s results have only added to the excitement, with Team Heretics and Leviatán standing tall as they prepare for their next challenge.
