Zenless Zone Zero Had A Really Great Launch Month; Here’s Why
HoYoverse’s latest sci-fi action game has made quite a splash in July, moreso than other titles the past few months.
According to data from mobile app rating/revenue-ranking site Sensor Tower, Zenless Zone Zero has raked in US$96 million in revenue worldwide on its debut month. The game has beaten other titles like Love and Deepspace, and even HoYoverse’s previous titles Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
ZZZ has also garnered 50 million downloads worldwide, is in the top 10 most-played games on PlayStation 5 in July 2024, and even won the 2024 China Best Game Innovation Competition Award at ChinaJoy.
All in all, it’s a good month to be a HoYoverse fan. Let’s hope that ZZZ can keep up with its updates the next few months; the real test for a free-to-play game’s lifespan is if it can go upward in player count and sales after 12 months. For more ZZZ news, check out our review and guide.
