Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Reveals New Details of Original Mode & More
By Alisha Alix|September 3, 2024|0 Comment
Yoshimi Yasuda, the producer of Dragami Games, recently shared some exciting updates about the highly anticipated Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP on his social media accounts. The social post gives a detail overview focuses on the game’s Original Mode and the planned Day 1 patch.
According to the producer, the Original Mode of the remastered version will preserve the gore, cutscenes, character designs, animations, character introduction images, and achievements exactly as they were in the original game, with the only notable change being higher resolutions.
Yasuda also revealed that the Original Mode will feature adjustments to gameplay parameters to meet modern action game standards, including changes to attack power, speed, combo input time, and camera movement. Additionally, modifications to weapon mechanics and special moves will be made, and an option to automate Quick Time Events (QTEs) will be added.
He also mentioned that past errors have been rectified, such as changes to cutscenes to ensure consistency and fixing overlooked details from the original version, like chainsaw marks not appearing on buses, walls, and roads. Plus, the Day 1 patch is set to address bug fixes, and interestingly, there have been no requests from platform owners to alter or censor RePOP’s content, even in the Original Mode.
The original cult classic hack-and-slash game was first released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game features additional gameplay content such as the RePOP mode, where players use a unique and colourful pop art-inspired art style for damage effects. There are unique new chainsaws with distinctly different features that have been added. A Time Attack mode with a ranking feature has been added. The best part is that Juliet can try out 30 costumes, more than the original game’s costume count. Combined with the addition of 4 new hair colours and 4 new chainsaws, this adds up to 750 different possible combinations.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will launch first for PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on 12 September, followed by PS4 and Xbox One sometime in November 2024.
