The synopsis reads:

In “Agatha All Along,” the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…

In addition to Kathryn Hahn, “Agatha All Along” stars Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, with Debra Jo Rupp, with Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos and Jac Schaeffer. The directors for the series include Jac Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero.

Agatha’s New ‘Identity’

The last time we met her, Agatha was defeated by Wanda Maximoff AKA the Scarlet Witch during the events of WandaVision. Wanda chose to imprison her as her fake Westview character, Agnes. However, it seems that Agnes is now a homicide detective or police officer working at the Westview Police Department.

Westview Is Now No Longer A Sitcom, But A True Crime Procedural Show Like True Detective

During the events of WandaVision, the town of Westview was stuck in a perpetual state of being a ‘sitcom’. Now, it looks like Westview is a true crime procedural, similar to shows like True Detective, Broadchurch and several Nordic shows of the same vein.

Aubrey Plaza Makes Her Debut In The MCU

She’s playing an FBI agent named Rio Vidal in this version of Westview.

In The Comics, Nicholas Scratch Is Agatha’s Son

In the comics, Agatha’s son is Nicholas Scratch and he’s the leader (and father) of the Salem Seven.

So, does the MCU version of Agatha have (or had) a son as well?

Joe Locke As Mysterious Teen Who Could Be Billy Kaplan, One Of Scarlet Witch’s Sons

It’s rumoured that Joe Locke’s character is actually Billy Kaplan, one of Wanda’s sons. However, we’ll have to wait and see if that turns out to be true.

For now, he’s only credited as “Teen” in the credits.

Agatha All Along Takes Place After The Events Of 2022’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

Wanda Maximoff AKA the Scarlet Witch died during the events of 2022’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Aubrey Plaza’s character confirms that Wanda is dead and that “all copies of the Darkhold” are gone.

What this means is that Agatha could break out of her prison if she wanted to.

Agatha Finally Remembers Her True Self And Finds Out That She’s Been Stuck In Westview For Three Years

Three years, that’s exactly how long it’s been since the end of WandaVision in 2021.

It’s also revealed that the rest of the Westview residents are actually already living their normal lives. Agatha was the only one still stuck inside the ‘fake’ Westview.

Aubrey Plaza Reveals Her True Self And Says That The Salem Seven Is Coming To Kill Agatha

Aubrey Plaza’s character is actually a witch named Rio Vidal and she wants to kill Agatha.

She also says that she will reveal Agatha’s location to the Salem Seven, which was Agatha’s old coven of witches.

In the comics, the Salem Seven is a team of magical beings and supervillains. They’re the children of Nicholas Scratch (he’s the son of Agatha Harkness) and the grandchildren of Agatha Harkness. They’re usually humans with magic powers who can transform into fantastic creatures with superpowers.

Joe Locke’s Character Was The One Who Broke Wanda’s Spell Over Agatha

At this point, there’s no way that he’s not Billy Kaplan if he can break Wanda’s spells. But again, we’ll have to wait and see.

And when he tries to say his name, his mouth is magically sealed… Even more suspicious.

Agatha Is Trying To Recruit A New Coven Of Witches, Starting With Lilia Calderu

Lilia Calderu is played by actress Patti LuPone. Lilia is a witch who’s an expert in divination.

Agatha wants to recruit a new coven to pursue something called The Witches’ Road.

This Is Another Major Witch From The Comics, Jennifer Kale

She is played by actress Sasheer Zamata. Agatha recruits Jennifer for her coven.

In the comics, Jennifer Kale is one of the more prominent witches and a magical hero. She’s been part of the Midnight Sons and the Legion Of Night.

Alice Wu-Gulliver Is Another Member Of Agatha’s New Coven

She’s played by actress Ali Ahn.

Blackheart Mentioned

Lilian mentions that the last name of their list of witches is a “Blackheart”.

Earlier in Episode 1, Aubrey Plaza’s character also mentioned that she has a black heart.

We know Aubrey Plaza is playing a witch named Rio Vidal but is she connected to Blackheart?

In the comics, Blackheart is a demon who is the son of Mephisto. He’s one of the most powerful magical villains in the Marvel universe.

Will Blackheart finally appear in the MCU? That would be big if it happens.

The Witches’ Road Is An… Actual Physical Road

After completing the ritual for The Witches’ Road, Agatha and her coven gets attacked by the Salem Seven before they escape to somewhere underground, which turns out to be The Witches’ Road.

Where does The Witches’ Road lead to? We’ll see in the next episode.

Also, these are the actors/actresses and the names of each of the Salem Seven.
