Netflix October 2024: Our Picks & Highlights

I’m sure you won’t want to waste time sifting through Netflix’s extensive catalogue of shows and movies just to decide on what to watch. The streaming giant updates its site every day, week, and month with new content, so I’m here to save your precious time.

Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for Netflix Malaysia’s October 2024 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:

The crafty Bad Guys crew embarks on a high-stakes Halloween heist to swipe a priceless amulet from a spooky mansion. What could go wrong?

Upon entering the platform, each new resident selects a dish of food. Everyone appears to follow an unwritten rule: each person only eats from their chosen dish, ensuring the food reaches all levels. But is this system truly fair?

Tomb Raider The Legend Of Lara Croft (10 October 2024)

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, set after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy video games, is coming to Netflix on October 10.

Uprising (11 October 2024)

In the Joseon Dynasty, two friends who grew up together — one the master and one the servant — reunite post-war as enemies on opposing sides.

Chucky Season 1 (15 October 2024)

If you’re a horror fan, then you’d probably recognize the most (in)famous haunted doll of all; Chucky himself, but did you know that there have been three seasons of the Chucky TV series?

This will be the first time that the Chucky TV series will be available in Malaysia (after airing on SyFy in the US), and it’s highly recommended, especially if you’ve been following the Child’s Play franchise. Even if you haven’t, this series is full of the franchise’s trademark dark humour and great bloody kills.

The Shadow Strays (17 October 2024)

13 (Aurora Ribero), an assassin determined to save a child from a crime syndicate, even if it means going against her own mentor and the organization who hires her. Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, The Shadow Strays premieres on 17 October , only on Netflix.

Gundam Requiem For Vengeance (17 October 2024)

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance” is an all-new original animation composed of six 30-minute episodes focusing on the European front of the One Year War, which was the setting of the first Gundam series, “Mobile Suit Gundam.” Produced in collaboration with SAFEHOUSE using Unreal Engine 5, the series is written by Gavin Hignight, who wrote the animated series “Tekken: Bloodline” and “Transformers: Cyberverse,” as well as the video game “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” and is directed by Erasmus Brosdau, who has also worked on the animated series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” and the video games “Star Citizen,” “Ryse: Son of Rome” and the “Crysis” series.

Woman Of The Hour (18 October 2024)

Anna Kendrick stars in her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour, the stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a yearslong murder spree, whose lives intersect when they’re cast on an episode of The Dating Game.

Family Pack (23 October 2024)

In the film, “After discovering a mysterious card game, a family is thrust back in time to a medieval village where they must fend off dangerous werewolves each night.” It stars Franck Dubosc, Jean Reno, and Suzanne Clément.

Don’t Move (25 October 2024)

A woman alone in the forests of Big Sur must escape a serial killer with just 20 minutes left before her body completely shuts down. From legendary producer Sam Raimi DON’T MOVE coming October 25.

Time Cut (30 October 2024)

A teen in 2024 accidentally time-travels to 2003, days before a masked killer murders her sister. Can she change the past without destroying the future?
