Publisher Private Division and developer Weta Workshop have finally announced the release date for the highly anticipated fantasy life simulation game, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.
The game, which was initially delayed until early 2025 to ensure top-notch quality and a stellar player experience, will now be hitting the shelves on 25 March 2025. To make up for the delay, the team treated fans to a special Hobbit Day Showcase today, providing an exclusive peek into the charming and cozy life-sim set in The Shire.
In Tales of the Shire, players step into the shoes of a Hobbit, allowing them to create and customize their own character and Hobbit home. The game promises an array of delightful activities such as cooking, gardening, fishing, crafting, and exploring the idyllic world of The Shire.
At the heart of the game lies the village of Bywater, where players can engage in community-building and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, including sharing homecooked meals with fellow Hobbits. As players foster relationships and contribute to the village, their Fellowship grows, aiding progression in the game’s narrative.
The storyline unfolds as players arrive in Bywater and discover that the village is in need of some serious changes to make it into an official village. It’s up to the players to revitalize the community and transform it into a place that the entire Shire will admire.
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
