Zenless Zone Zero To Ditch Its One Standout Feature In Main Quest Mode
In a move that is surely driven by player request, the Story Quests for action game Zenless Zone Zero will be ditching its standout mechanic: the TV exploration mode.
According to the upcoming 1.2 update, ZZZ’s main quests will not have TV exploration mode and will just have battles and fights. Furthermore, there will be a Fairy Auto Explore mode for previous story quests that featured TV exploration mode. Don’t fret though; this mode is still available in side quests.
It’s a shame, personally. While I do believe some of these could have been implemented better (maybe speed up the pace further and shorten dialogue prompts), the TV Exploration mode did bring a sense of uniqueness to the game’s hacking & exploration theme. Still, if the majority voted against it, it has to be axed. Hopefully developer HoYoverse can bring it back and revamp it so that it’s a lot more dynamic and speedier in execution. Or better yet: have full-on exploration using the 3D models and backdrops on hand.
Other changes in the 1.2 update include the option to play as Agents you acquire, and Backup Battery Charge system, which lets you accumulate Battery Charge after you reach the upper limit. You will also be able to obtain Notorious Hunt materials even after you reach the weekly reward limit.
TLDR:
?Upcoming optimizations:
1. Adds an Agent control function. After acquiring Caesar/Burnice, Proxies can freely switch to playing as them and explore the city. In Version 1.4, Proxies will be able to play as any contracted Agent in most non-combat environments.
2. Adds… https://t.co/tNvLtqMhsj— Zenless Zone Zero (@ZZZ_EN) September 24, 2024
ZZZ is out right now for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. The 1.2 update should be live right now and features a new story quest and new character Caesar in the gacha banner pool.
