We Delve Into William Kaplan’s Life

This episode is finally showing us the origin of Joe Lock’s character, William ‘Billy’ Kaplan AKA Wiccan AKA the son of Wanda Maximoff AKA the Scarlet Witch.

Who Is Wiccan?

In the comics, his origins are quite complicated. He first appeared in Young Avengers #1 (April 2005).

Recruited to the Young Avengers by Iron Lad, Wiccan’s story includes the discovery that he and fellow teen hero Speed are in fact long-lost twin brothers and that the pair are reincarnations of the sons of Scarlet Witch and her husband Vision, Billy reincarnated from William Maximoff. Significant storylines for the character include his and his brother’s search for their original mother, learning to master his powers and an ongoing relationship with his teammate (later husband) Hulkling.

Alongside his permanent role as a member of the Young Avengers, Wiccan has also been a member of Avengers Idea Mechanics, Strikeforce, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers. He is known for being a prominent gay character in Marvel Comics.

Wiccan has incredible magical abilities that allow him to warp reality, similar to his “soul mother,” Wanda Maximoff. Wiccan’s spells work by stating intent, focusing on that outcome, and making it happen. If he says “Iwanttolevitatethiscar,” he merely has to repeat that over and over, focus on levitating the car, and it happens. Among the spells Wiccan has cast are tracking spells, teleportation spells, illusions, concussive blasts, telekinesis, and astral projection.

Over the years, Wiccan’s powers have grown. Loki believed him to be something called the Demiurge, a reality warper with nearly godlike powers. Loki was correct in his assertions, as Billy eventually evolves into Demiurge status. As the Demiurge, he had the power to view the past, present and future, as even alter the universe at will. He eventually relinquishes the power to remain mortal, believing it would corrupt him. Doctor Strange himself has called Billy Kaplan one of the most powerful sorcerers on Earth, and believes he will eventually assume the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.

Wanda’s Voice Can Be Heard On The Radio

Will she make a full cameo in Agatha All Along? We’ll have to wait and see.

Billy And His Family During The Events Of WandaVision, How The Soul Of Wanda’s Son Reincarnated Into Billy

Billy was living in Eastview with his parents during the events of WandaVision. Eastview is the neighbouring town of Westview.

The MCU version of William Billy Kaplan AKA Wiccan is different from the comics.

When the end events of WandaVision were happening, Billy and his parents got into in a car accident.

William Billy Kaplan essentially died during the accident and the soul of Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff, went into his body.

What this means is that Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff, has basically been reincarnated in the body of William Kaplan.

Evan Peters Reprises His Role As Ralph Bohner

Evan Peters is best known for playing Quicksilver in the Fox X-Men movies but he made his debut in the MCU in WandaVision as Ralph Bohner.

Ralph Bohner is a resident of Westview who was taken under the thrall of Agatha Harkness. With dark magic, Bohner possessed superhuman speed and posed as Pietro Maximoff to get close to Wanda Maximoff and try to extract information about how she had created the Hex.

In Agatha All Along, he reprises his role as Ralpha Bohner.

Bohner is how Billy learns about Agatha Harkness, as well as the fact that Wanda and Vision had children.

The Reason Why William Billy Kaplan Wants To Go On The Witches Road

He believes it will help him find his missing brother, Tommy Maximoff.

He Admits He Is Actually Billy Maximoff

So, ever since the beginning of this series, he’s always known that he’s Billy Maxmioff and that William Kaplan is dead.

We only have three episodes left.

Until the next episode, excelsior!
