Double Eleven Steps Into The Dark With Original IP, Blindfire

Double Eleven is entering new territory with Blindfire, its first original IP—a suspenseful multiplayer FPS where players battle in darkness. Unveiled during the Xbox Partner Preview, Blindfire is now available on PC for RM24.50 via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a PS5 release expected later this year.

Blindfire’s launch comes during a remarkable year for Double Eleven. The UK-based developer and publisher expanded its team to 440 and moved into a new headquarters in March, marking a significant growth phase. Known for its collaborative development on major titles like Minecraft Dungeons, Prison Architect, and Fallout 76, Double Eleven’s experience in enhancing beloved games has fueled its ambition to create a unique title of its own—giving life to Blindfire through efforts by teams in the UK and Malaysia.

In Blindfire, players must navigate intense, darkened arenas filled with traps, where sound, stealth, and careful strategy are crucial to outlasting opponents. Each shot risks revealing the player’s location, amplifying the tension. The game’s distinctive blacklight and neon visuals, combined with evolving updates informed by community feedback, promise a high-adrenaline, immersive experience.

Mark South, COO of Double Eleven, shared:

“Blindfire marks a proud milestone for our team. We’ve spent years co-developing with other studios, bringing fan-favourite titles to new platforms, and enhancing established games. Blindfire is our own creation—an extension of our creativity and talent, built with the same dedication we bring to every project.”

Supporting its growth in the gaming world, Double Eleven is also the headline sponsor of Animex 2024, an international festival for animation, games, and VFX, at Teesside University. Fans and aspiring developers can meet the team and explore career opportunities at Animex on 13 November.

As Double Eleven prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary this December, the studio’s success in growth and innovation serves as a foundation for its next decade of creative milestones.
