It Takes Two Studio’s Next Game Title ‘Splits’ Out In Latest Leak
By Lewis "lickety" Larcombe|October 21, 2024|0 Comment
On 17 October, Hazelight Studios’ creative director, Josef Fares hinted on X (formerly Twitter) about their upcoming project, calling it a “brand new IP” with the mysterious title “S**** ******N.” I promise you, it’s not a slur.
Shortly after, Hazelight’s official account followed up with an image of a redacted script, complete with notes and post-its mentioning “co-op,” reinforcing the idea that the studio will stick to its multiplayer-only roots.
Now that you mention it, think you dropped this in the office @josef_fares? https://t.co/uh6AZAlrHL pic.twitter.com/oWv3Eew4M9

Although the game’s name hasn’t been confirmed, dataminer billbil-kun—who’s known for accurately revealing games and hardware before they’re announced—seems to have spilled the beans early. According to a post on Dealabs, the game will be titled Split Fiction. The insider also suggests that split-screen mechanics will play a major role in the gameplay.
The teaser image posted by Hazelight supports this theory, showing various sketches of screens divided in different ways, implying that dynamic split-screen action could be a central feature.
Hazelight, famous for its co-op-only experiences like A Way Out and the wildly successful It Takes Two, continues to focus on multiplayer adventures. It Takes Two has now surpassed 20 million copies sold, marking yet another milestone for the studio.
