Japan, USA, & China Dominates Capcom Pro Tour 2024 Singapore; Home Country Rep Ends Up In Top 8

The dust has settled for this year’s Capcom fighting game tournament in Singapore, a long-running annual event that used to be dubbed South East Asia Majors before PlayStation and Capcom entered the fray. And Gamescom Asia.

Regardless, the spirit of competition is the same, with Singapore and Southeast Asia’s finest players duking it out against the rest of the world in this prestigious “Super Premier” event. The tournament was won by Japanese player Shuto who dominated the circuit with Akuma, followed by USA’s Nephew who got pretty far with his Juri play. China’s finest M.Bison player Zhen did more that good by placing third (part in thanks to adding Dee Jay in his main picks), while former Capcom Cup winner Gachikun still stuck with his main character Rashid and blew wind past the rest of his victims.

Xian, the sole Southeast Asian and Singapore player in the top 8, made it really far with his Dee Jay, with this highlight from yesterday being one of his more daring plays.

The same can’t be said for his buddies SKZ (33rd place) and Bravery (33rd place), but at least they’re in the top 96 alongside killers like Fuudo, Dogura, and OilKing. Singapore player Seo is also conspicuously absent, given that he’s been in these tournaments for the past few years.

Check out the standings below:

1.  CR| Shuto (Akuma)
2. Liquid| Nephew (Juri)
3. Tikitaka| Zhen (Dee Jay, M. Bison)
4. RB| Gachikun (Rashid)
5. GG| Xian (Dee Jay)
5. Saishunkan| Higuchi (Guile)
7. Falcons| DCQ (M. Bison, JP)
7. Mouz| EndingWalker (Ed)
9. HB| Kawano (Akuma)
9. FNATIC| Chris Wong (Akuma)
9. DRX| Leshar (Ed)
9. DFM| John Takeuchi (Rashid)
13. DFM| Nauman (Ken)
13. TM| OilKing (Rashid)
13. Talon| HotDog29 (M. Bison)
13. CAG| Fenrich (Blanka)
