Last week focused on Alice’s trial. This episode, we have Agatha’s trial to focus on, and they have to play an Ouija board to commune with the spirits of the dead.
It seems that Death wants to punish Agatha for some reason.
In Marvel comics, Death is a living personification or entity of an abstract concept (in this case, of Death). She is usually depicted as either a goth woman or a skeleton in a grim reaper-like cloak.
In a homage to exorcism movies like The Exorcist, Agatha gets possessed by a spirit or demon.
She even does the iconic spider walk.
It seems like Agatha All Along is finally leaning more into the promised horror aspects. Sure, last week’s episode gave us a demon, but it was only for a single scene. In this episode, we’re getting possessions and ghosts!
It turns out that Agatha’s deceased mother, Evanora Harkness, was the one who possessed Agatha earlier. She wants to punish Agatha because she believes that Agatha has been evil since birth.
Again, as we’ve established in previous episodes, Nicholas Scratch is (or was) Agatha’s son.
Did Agatha really sacrifice her son for power?
When Alice tries exorcising the Evanora Harkness for Agatha’s body, Agatha absorbs her power, killing her in the process.
It feels like the show is trying to indicate that Teen really is Billy Kaplan AKA Wanda Maximoff’s son, though that has yet to be explicitly confirmed.
However, the episode ends with Teen turning on the other witches and showing that not only does he have the power to do so, but it shows him with Wanda’s crown on his head.
If that’s not a confirmation, I don’t know what it. Teen is probably really Billy Kaplan AKA Wiccan AKA Wanda’s son.
In the comics, Billy also wears a crown-like headwear band thing.
Until next episode, excelsior!
