Star Wars Visions Season 3 Officially Confirmed, Includes Studio Trigger & More

Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed that the animated anthology series Star Wars Visions Season 3 is in development and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar sometime in 2025. The news was announced on the first day of Disney’s two-day Content Showcase event in Singapore.

Now with Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, the animated anthology returns to where it all began with nine shorts from nine different anime studios, including returning contributors Kamikaze Douga, Kinema citrus Co., Production I.G, and TRIGGER. The next installment will also introduce five new anime studios to the world of Star Wars — ANIMA (in co-production with Kamikaze Douga), David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio — to further demonstrate the diversity and creativity of Japanese animation.

Star Wars Visions Season 1 debuted on Disney+ in September 2021. The season included 9 episodes with work from Japanese animation studios Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G. and Science Saru.

Star Wars Visions Season 2 was released on Disney+ in May 2023, with episodes featuring work from a more international group of international studios, including Aardman (U.K.), El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan) along with Lucasfilm (U.S.), and Triggerfish (South Africa/Ireland).

In the meantime, check out our review of Star Wars Visions Season 1 and Season 2.
