Xbox Shares A Glimpse Behind The Scenes Of South Of Midnight
By Lewis LarcombeVerified|November 13, 2024|0 Comment
Xbox just unveiled a 30-minute documentary diving into the world of South of Midnight, a highly anticipated action-adventure title from the studio behind Contrast and We Happy Few, Compulsion Games. This upcoming third-person adventure, set in the mystical landscapes of the American Deep South, blends folklore with a haunting, fantastical storyline.
In South of Midnight, players step into the shoes of Hazel, a young woman drawn into a mythic world brimming with Southern folklore. Hazel’s journey begins after a calamity shakes her hometown, calling her to become a “Weaver”—an enchanted healer who mends spiritual and emotional rifts. Armed with her newfound abilities, she must confront supernatural creatures, untangle her family’s tangled past, and ultimately search for a sense of belonging.
The documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look, featuring interviews with developers and actors, as well as fresh gameplay that brings Hazel’s coming-of-age journey to life.
Slated for a 2025 release on Xbox Series X | S and PC, South of Midnight will also be available on Game Pass from day one. For fans, Compulsion Games is releasing a collectable box set at US$139.95, set to ship next April. The set includes a 160-page art book, a double-LP vinyl soundtrack, a comic, exclusive artwork, and a fridge magnet—a must-have for those who want to bring a piece of South of Midnight home.
