Falcom’s 2025 Lineup Teases Mystery PS5 Port & Bigger Ambitions

Falcom has a surprise up its sleeve for PlayStation 5 owners in 2025, as revealed in the company’s investor presentation titled “Matters Concerning Business Plans and Growth Potential,” published via Nikkei. Alongside previously announced titles like Ys X: Proud Nordics, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and what’s likely the Nintendo Switch version of Ys: Memories of Celceta, a mysterious PS5 port is now in development.

What’s on Falcom’s Upcoming Slate?

Here’s the updated list of what Falcom fans can look forward to:

  • The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria (PS5, PS4) – Released September 2024
  • Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (PS5, Switch, PC) – In Development
  • Tokyo Xanadu New Project (TBA) – In Development
  • Unannounced Title (TBA) – In Development
  • Unannounced PlayStation 5 Ported Title (PS5) – In Development
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak (Switch) – Released February 2024
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II (Switch) – Released July 2024
  • Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Port (PS5, PS4) – Released May 2024
  • Unannounced Nintendo Switch Title (Switch) – In Development (likely Ys: Memories of Celceta, due spring 2025)
  • Ys X: Proud Nordics (TBA) – In Development
  • Unannounced Trails Series Title (TBA) – In Development
  • Unannounced Ys Series Title (TBA) – In Development

Falcom isn’t just content with its current pace of releasing two to three titles annually. The studio is ramping up its ambitions, aiming to churn out four to five games per year within the next two years.

Speculation & Hints

The unannounced PS5 port is a tantalising mystery, and fans can’t help but wonder which beloved classic might get the next-gen treatment. Meanwhile, Ys: Memories of Celceta is strongly hinted to be the “unannounced Switch title,” joining a growing trend of Falcom adapting its legacy for newer platforms.

Whether you’re into the Trails series, the Ys saga, or itching for something new like Tokyo Xanadu’s upcoming project, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for JRPG enthusiasts
