Here are my personal recommendations and highlights for Prime Video Malaysia’s January 2025 lineup and how to fill up your free time with worthwhile content at home:

On Call Season 1 (9 January 2025)

On Call is an adrenalised and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Shot with a mixture of hand-held cameras, bodycam and dash-cam footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.

The series stars Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars) as hard-charging but protective veteran officer “Traci Harmon,” who struggles to find her place in the department while training the next generation of officers. Brandon Larracuente (The Good Doctor) stars as “Alex Diaz,” an ambitious rookie who grapples with holding onto his optimistic outlook as he realizes the challenges he’ll face in today’s climate.

Additional cast includes Lori Loughlin (Fuller House) as “Lieutenant Bishop,” Rich Ting as “Tyson Koyoma” and Eriq La Salle (Chicago PD) as “Sergeant Lasman” who also serves as an executive producer on the series and directed multiple episodes.

The Calendar Killer (16 January 2025)

It is Friday night. Jules Tannberg, a volunteer for a telephone hotline for women who seek a calming voice on the other end of the line to accompany them as they make their way home late at night or who call for help in an emergency. None of the calls have ever been a really serious case. Until today, when Jules speaks with Kara. The young woman is terrified. She believes she is being followed by a man who had already attacked her once before. And who drew a date on her bedroom wall in blood, announcing the date of her death. And that day is just around the corner…

Unstoppable (16 January 2025)

Unstoppable showcases the incredible true story of Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome), a wrestler born with one leg, who defied all odds with his unyielding determination and powerful spirit. With the constant love and support of his mother, Judy (Jennifer Lopez), and the guidance of his coaches, Anthony fights through every obstacle to make it onto the Arizona State Wrestling team. But to reach his ultimate goal of becoming an NCAA Champion, he’ll have to push himself beyond his limits, both physically and mentally.

The Killer’s Game (23 January 2025)

Follows veteran assassin Joe Flood, who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill; he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.

You’re Cordially Invited (30 January 2025)

Get ready to watch what happens when two weddings are mistakenly scheduled for the same day at the same venue, both bridal parties are thrown into a frenzy trying to protect their families’ big day all while making the best of the cramped space. In a hilarious showdown of determination and stubbornness, the father of the bride (Will Ferrell) and the sister of the other bride (Reese Witherspoon) go head-to-head, each willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their loved ones have an unforgettable celebration.
