Splitgate 2’s New Trailer Shows Off More Portal-Powered Mayhem

At The Game Awards 2024, Splitgate 2 dropped a fast-paced, portal-filled trailer that cranks up the chaos to 11. This sequel to 1047 Games’ 2021 shooter brings massive, vibrant maps and brain-bending portal action, where players can zip across arenas, outsmart enemies, and blast their way to victory.

As dramatic title cards declare, “portals change everything”—and they really do in this game. Splitgate 2 doubles down on fast-paced 4v4 combat, where the real action comes from how you zip around the massive maps using portals. It’s like a theme park for your trigger finger, with a healthy dose of high-flying carnage.

A press release teases that Splitgate 2 introduces a world where “the world’s most popular sport is Splitgate,” and three factions battle for dominance. Choose from a roster of all-stars across three unique classes, each packing their own set of abilities. Your goal? Outportal your enemies, travel across the map in the blink of an eye, and secure that tactical edge with some seriously wild moves. Will you stick with your team to clinch the win, or will you go solo and dominate the battlefield?

No release date yet, but Splitgate 2 is expected in 2025 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One, with alpha testing starting early next year. Get ready to portal your way through some vibrant, action-packed arenas.
