SpongeBob Meets Streetwear: UNIQLO Launches Limited UT Collab With Cactus Plant Flea Market

Attention, SpongeBob fans and streetwear aficionados! UNIQLO has dropped a sponge-tastic new UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) collection that’s making waves. This time, the beloved residents of Bikini Bottom have been given a cheeky makeover courtesy of the cult-favourite fashion brand Cactus Plant Flea Market. The collection hit UNIQLO stores across Malaysia on 13 December 2024, and it’s as bold as it is bizarre.

This triple-threat collaboration blends SpongeBob’s timeless charm with Cactus Plant Flea Market’s signature “double vision” aesthetic—a trippy, playful style that reimagines SpongeBob, Patrick, and the gang in hilarious new ways. From T-shirts to hoodies, caps, and even original collectible toys, this collection doubles as a wearable tribute to some of the most iconic moments from the show. Who wouldn’t want a piece of Bikini Bottom with a streetwear twist?

Why This Collab is a Big Deal

SpongeBob SquarePants has long transcended its roots as a cartoon, becoming a cross-generational cultural icon. Pair that with the quirky irreverence of Cactus Plant Flea Market—a modern pop art darling—and you’ve got a collection that’s both nostalgic and cutting-edge. Think of it as SpongeBob but on a fashion acid trip.

Exclusive Collectibles & Displays

For those lucky enough to have stopped by UNIQLO Fahrenheit88 or The Exchange TRX stores between 9 and 13 December, oversized plush versions of SpongeBob and Patrick were on display for fans to snap selfies with. Though the exhibition has now wrapped up, the toys themselves are still available for purchase (RM 129.90 each) while stocks last.

Collection Highlights

The collection features:

  • T-shirts (RM 59.90 for adults, RM 39.90 for kids)
  • Hoodies (RM 149.90)
  • UV Protection Cap (RM 79.90, select stores only)
  • Original Toys (RM 129.90, 2 designs)

Available in sizes ranging from XS to 3XL for adults and 100cm to 160cm for kids, this family-friendly lineup means everyone can get in on the fun. Bonus points for being both stylish and comfy.

Where to Shop

You can grab the collection at all UNIQLO stores in Malaysia or online at uniqlo.com.my.

Whether you’re rocking SpongeBob on your chest or flexing a plush Patrick on your shelf, this quirky collaboration is perfect for anyone looking to inject a bit of Bikini Bottom into their wardrobe. Don’t wait too long—this one’s bound to disappear faster than SpongeBob at a jellyfishing tournament
