Bayonetta Origins was a 2023 Nintendo Switch-exclusive title that really shaped the origin story of Cereza, who would go on to be the title character for developer PlatinumGames’ stable. The game had a huge storybook motif to it, it featured fun gameplay and puzzles, and was an overall joy to play if you’re hard up for these sort of fairytale spin-offs of a hardcore action game.

A pity we may not see titles like these from PlatinumGames, because its director Abebe Tinari is leaving the company. His next stop will be at Housemarque as lead game designer. Yes, the same PlayStation subsidiary studio responsible for titles like Resogun and Returnal, shooter titles catering towards those who want a challenge.

Tinari updated his LinkedIn profile to include Housemarque (via ResetEra). We also know that this is the result of a Housemarque job posting looking for a senior game designer on a triple-A title featuring boss fights. Good to know Housemarque is keeping on-brand with its upcoming PS5 title.
