Creature Commandos Season 1 Finale Delivers Death & A New Beginning
By Alleef AshaariVerified|January 9, 2025|0 Comment
The seventh and final episode of Creature Commandos Season 1 is now streaming on Max Malaysia.
In the meantime, check out our breakdown of Creature Commandos Episodes 1 and 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5 and Episode 6 here.
James Gunn, the co-head of DC Studios, is the writer and executive producer of the series. The official logline states the show “tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option.”
The cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
The Creature Commandos series will begin the new DCU or DC Universe, with the upcoming Superman movie in July 2025 set to be the first live-action movie. You can read more about the rest of the planned movies and TV shows in the DCU by heading over here.
Also, head on over here for our breakdown of the latest Superman movie trailer.
She was born as a human but with a medical condition (her lungs formed outside of her body).
In the comics, Nina transformed herself into an amphibian woman as an adult scientist.
The DCU version became an amphibian because of her father’s efforts to cure her, by infusing her with elements from aquatic animals.
She was bullied at school for her strange appearance.
This resulted in her running away from home.
It’s funny because Doctor Phosphorus’ design does look similar to Marvel’s Ghost Rider.
That being said, there is also another DC Comics character who looks like Ghost Rider and that is Superman villain Atomic Skull.
To put the contest to rest, Marvel’s Ghost Rider did make his debut first in 1972 before Doctor Phosphorus in 1977 and Atomic Skull in 1978.
Nina ran away to Star City.
That’s interesting because Star City is where Green Arrow resides and comes from.
Sadly, that is where Nina gets captured and her father dies while trying to save her.
What this means is that Circe planned this all along so that Amanda Waller and the Creature Commandos would kill Princess Ilana Rostovic.
Nina’s assassination attempt is unsuccessful as Princess Ilana retaliates by stabbing and killing Nina.
Caught on tape.
That means that Circe was speaking the truth about Princess Ilana.
For revenge, since Ilana killed Nina.
The Bride, Doctor Phosphorus and Weasel.
Amanda Waller gives the Bride a new team of Creature Commandos, including Doctor Phosphorus and Nosferata.
That’s Khalis, a member of the team from the comics.
Weasel.
A new and improved GI Robot.
King Shark returns. This is probably the same version of King Shark from 2021’s The Suicide Squad. This time, he’s voiced by Diedrich Bader and not Sylvester Stallone.
There’s a post-credits scene and it shows Frankenstein still alive with a different old woman. Let’s hope that he doesn’t kill this one.
There you have it, folks, Creature Commandos Season 1 is over with its seventh and final episode.
The next DCU project to be released will be the highlight-anticipated Superman movie in July 2025, so stay tuned for our coverage on that.
Until then, excelsior!
