Here Is Your EVO 2025 Tournament Fighting Game Line-Up

Update: Story bumped forward to 15 January.

The biggest fighting game tournament of this year just revealed its gaming line-up, though by accident.

Originally planned for 14th January, the Evo Events YouTube page’s scheduled post had a thumbnail that revealed the game line-up for 2025’s tournament (via Fighting-Games Daily). They are:

  • Street Fighter 6
  • Tekken 8
  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
  • Under Night In-Birth 2
  • Mortal Kombat 1
  • Marvel vs Capcom 2
  • Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

The list looks about right, given the dominance of both Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 in the esports fighting game scene. Three anime fighters -GG Strive, GBVS Rising, Under Night 2- represent the tournament while Western fighter Mortal Kombat 1 is still standing, with classic Capcom tag-team game Marvel vs Capcom 2 coming back to the limelight following the collection’s release.

The only new game on the block is SNK’s upcoming 2D fighting title Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which will be out in 24 April. This means that players will have 3 months or so to practice getting good at the next Fatal Fury game in time for EVO 2025.

The extended lineup of fighting games include the following:

  • Rivals of Aether II
  • Virtua Fighter 5 REVO
  • KOF XV
  • Blazblue Central Fiction
  • Killer Instinct (2013)

EVO 2025 will be held at Las Vegas Convention Center, USA, from 1st to 3rd August. For more on last year’s EVO tournament, check out our highlight reel below.
