Dune: Awakening Gets A PC Release Date
By Lewis LarcombeVerified|February 21, 2025|0 Comment
Good news, future sandwalkers! Dune: Awakening finally has a release date—mark your calendars for 20 May because the sands of Arrakis will be shifting on Steam. And if you’re itching to carve out your own path in this brutal sci-fi wasteland, you don’t have to wait. You can start crafting your perfect desert survivor right now, thanks to the newly launched Character Creation & Benchmark Mode on Steam.
Think of it as your Gom Jabbar test—only instead of pain, you’ll be tweaking your jawline and picking a home planet. Your choices matter too. Will you align with the deadly Swordmasters, the scheming Bene Gesserit, the calculating Mentats, or the hardened Troopers? While this will define your starting abilities, don’t worry—you’ll eventually master every skill tree and mix them to your heart’s content.
And that’s not all. The benchmark mode lets you see if your rig can handle the sheer brutality of Arrakis, all while treating you to cinematic moments like soaring in an ornithopter or coming face-to-face with a sandworm the size of a skyscraper.
The base game will cost US$49.99/€49.99, and pre-orders are on the horizon. If you do commit early, you’ll get a tiny, wise companion—the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, featuring an in-game desert mouse. Watch him scurry about and remember: this little guy knows more about surviving Arrakis than you do.
Oh, and if you download the Character Creator & Benchmark Mode now, you’ll also get a redeemable Frameblade knife skin at launch. Because if you’re going to fight for control of the most dangerous planet in the universe, you might as well do it in style.
So, the question remains: will you rise from the dust, or be swallowed by it? Dune: Awakening awaits.
