PlayStation Network Is Finally Back Online After An Entire Day Of Downtime
From about 7am GMT+8 on Saturday, 8 February 2025, the PlayStation Network (PSN) went offline for hitherto unknown reasons. It stayed that way for almost 24 hours (a full day!) before it finally came back online and was restored at around 7AM+ on Sunday, 9 February 2025.

This is the second longest PSN downtime in history.
The longest recorded downtime for PSN was the infamous incident in April 2011, which lasted a whopping 23 days. The aftermath of that event caused personal details from approximately 77 million accounts to be compromised and prevented users of PS3 and PSP consoles from accessing the service. The cause of the 2011 PSN crash was due to malicious hackers.
At the time of writing, Sony has yet to provide an official reason for what caused this most recent PSN downtime.
