Dune: Awakening Pre-Orders Are Live – Here’s What You Need to Know
By Lewis LarcombeVerified|March 25, 2025|0 Comment
Dune: Awakening is landing on 20 May, and Funcom has finally confirmed what you’ll be coughing up for the privilege of being chased across Arrakis by giant subterranean death sausages. Pre-orders are open, and if you’ve ever dreamt of living in a world where water is more valuable than gold and the local wildlife considers you lunch, this is your moment.
Now, before you get too excited and start practising your best “desert warrior” impression in the mirror, let’s talk money. Unlike some modern multiplayer games that launch half-baked and demand a subscription fee just to function, Dune: Awakening is doing things properly. No Early Access, no monthly fees, and no sneaky microtransactions that make you question your life choices. Instead, you get the full game on day one, and Funcom will keep it growing with free updates and optional DLCs—because nothing says “live service” like paying extra to wear a fancier version of the same sand-proof bodysuit.
If you like your digital survival experiences with a little more pizzazz, there are three editions available:
Standard Edition (US$49.99) – Just the game. Nothing fancy. You get to suffer on Arrakis like everyone else.
Deluxe Edition (US$69.99) – This one gives you Sardaukar armour, a Season Pass with four DLCs, and five days of early access—because nothing screams power quite like getting a head start over everyone who paid less than you.
Ultimate Edition (US$89.99) – Everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus Paul Atreides’ stillsuit from the 2021 film, a digital artbook, a soundtrack, unique colour patterns, and the Caladan Palace Set, because when you’re trying to survive on a deadly desert planet, the most important thing is making sure your house looks expensive.
Oh, and if you pre-order any edition, you get a Muad’Dib terrarium—which is a fancy way of saying “a tiny mouse in a box.” Exciting.
Now, if you’re wondering whether your PC can actually run Dune: Awakening, here’s the deal. It’s one of the first games to feature NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which means it’ll look stunning right up until a sandworm swallows you whole. It also supports AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS 2, so no matter what GPU you’re running, you’ll have no excuse when you inevitably die.
For the truly committed, the game supports Razer Chroma RGB, allowing you to turn your gaming setup into a glowing sandstorm, and Razer Sensa HD Haptics, meaning your chair will violently shake every time something tries to kill you. Immersion!
