Logitech Releases A Mouse Pad That Never Lets You Die (In-Game, At Least)

Imagine you’re in the middle of a high-stakes gaming session, pulling off flick shots like you’re possessed by an esports deity—when suddenly, your wireless mouse gives up and dies. You fumble for a cable, your opponent capitalises on your misfortune, and now you’re questioning your life choices.

Logitech G’s new POWERPLAY 2 wants to make sure that never happens again. On the surface, it looks like just another black mouse pad, but lurking beneath is a clever bit of wizardry—wireless charging tech that keeps your mouse alive while you use it. No docks, no interruptions, just seamless power delivery via low-frequency electromagnetic field magic (or whatever Logitech G calls it).

The setup is simple: a small module connects to the mouse pad, and a “POWERPLAY 2 Charging Coin” attaches to your compatible Logitech G mouse. That’s it. As long as your mouse is on the pad, it stays charged—mid-game, mid-battle, mid-rage quit. The only thing it demands in return? A USB-A connection and RM499 from your wallet.

The Catch? You Need a Logitech G Mouse

If you’re already part of the Logitech G ecosystem, POWERPLAY 2 is a convenience upgrade, ensuring you never run out of battery at the worst moment. But if you’re not, you’ll need to invest in one of the following compatible mice:

  • PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX
  • PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2

  • PRO X SUPERLIGHT

  • PRO Wireless

  • G903

  • G703

  • G502 X PLUS

  • G502 X LIGHTSPEED

  • G502 LIGHTSPEED

  • G309

Logitech G promises more mice will support POWERPLAY 2 down the line, so if your favourite isn’t on the list, you might just have to be patient.

What’s in the Box?

For RM499, you get:

  • POWERPLAY 2 Base

  • Cloth gaming mouse pad

  • POWERPLAY 2 Coin

  • USB charging cable (attached, of course)

  • User documentation (which you probably won’t read anyway)

If you’re already rocking a Logitech G mouse, this is a slick little quality-of-life upgrade—one that ensures your mouse stays alive without you lifting a finger. It’s available now in Malaysia through authorised resellers and Logitech G’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada.

But if you’re using a non-Logitech mouse? Well, you’ll have to keep suffering the pain of manual charging like the rest of us peasants.
