The Invincible Season 3 Finale Breaks The World With The Conquest Fight

The eighth and final episode of Invincible Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video Malaysia. Yep, it’s finally here: the episode that makes Season 3 worth sitting around for, apart from the Powerplex episode. It’s essentially a big fight between two Viltrumites, and it’s all the more glorious for its brutality and carnage.

Check out the highlights after the spoiler tags.

Check out my spoiler-free review of Invincible Season 3 by heading over here.

Check out my breakdown of Invincible Season 3 Episodes 1, 2 and 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6 and Episode 7 here.

Check out my breakdown of Invincible Season 2 Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 7. and Episode 8 here.

Created by Robert Kirkman (and artists Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley), Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson who learns that he has inherited incredible powers from his superhero alien father, Omni-Man. The comic series ran for 144 issues from 2003 to 2018, with many spinoffs and its own cohesive shared universe.

I’ll be discussing heavy spoilers so if you haven’t seen it or want to avoid spoilers, now’s your chance to stop reading.

Mark Grayson VS Conquest

This is the biggest threat and fight that Mark has ever faced. Conquest is one of the strongest Viltrumites out there and fans have been waiting for this iconic fight ever since the animated adaptation began.

Almost the entire episode is essentially dedicated to the destructive fight between Mark and Conquest, which annihilates entire cities and buildings, putting Mark and Omni-Man’s fight from the first season to shame.

Conquest Almost Kills Oliver Before Mark Steps In Again

Conquest was trying to rip Oliver in half.

Conquest Kills Atom Eve

One of the most shocking moments in the comics finally gets adapted as Conquest kills Atom Eve. At least in the animated version she put up a bigger fight than in the comics.

One Of Mark’s Most Badass Lines From The Comics

“I don’t care how strong you are.

I don’t care how fast you are.

I can see the future…

You don’t live to see tomorrow.”

Atom Eve Is Actually Still Alive

Due to the nature of her powers (being able to manipulate matter, including organic and sentient matter when her mental blocks are lifted), she’s essentially immortal and can revive herself as many times as she wants. She had her limiters removed by Cecil in an earlier scene it seems.

Mark ‘Headbutts’ Conquest To Death Just Like In The Comics

That’s brutal. Though before that, we get a special monologue from Conquest about his job and purpose.

Even Conquest’s crushed face is accurate to the comics.

Rex’s Funeral

One of the most significant moments from this event is that Robot changes his name from Rudy to Rex, and in the future, he gets more obsessed with making sure nothing like this ever happens again (wink wink).

The Alien Sequids Are Still Alive

That’s going to be a problem in the future.

Also, Battle Beast is still alive.

Cecil Is Keeping Conquest’s Body, Revealing That Conquest Is Actually Still Alive (Barely)

That’s not going to end well, even with all the security measures.

Damien Darkblood Will Return

A post-credits scene reveals that Damien Darkblood will soon return.

It was Cecil who banished him to hell back in Season 1 for disobeying his orders.

What’s going to happen in Season 4?

Let’s hope it won’t be a long wait, folks. Until next time, excelsior!
