Indiana Jones Is Finally Cracking Whips On PS5

If you’ve ever fancied yourself a fedora-wearing, relic-snatching history buff with fists of fury and a knack for solving ancient riddles under the threat of certain doom—good news! Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now cracking its whip onto PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, and it’s not holding back.

Previously the darling of Xbox and PC gamers, this cinematic escapade—crafted by the brilliant minds at MachineGames with Lucasfilm Games peeking over their shoulders—has finally made the leap to Sony’s turf. Already crowned D.I.C.E’s Adventure Game of the Year and plastered across more than 50 “Best of 2024” lists, Indy’s latest outing isn’t just another nostalgia cash grab. It’s a full-throttle rollercoaster set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade—you know, back when Indiana was still in his whip-cracking prime and not lost in time-travelling CG madness.

So, what’s in the satchel?

Expect everything you’d want from an Indiana Jones title—jaw-dropping action set pieces, cryptic puzzles that will make your brain hurt in the best way possible, and close-quarters brawling that feels one punch away from a bar fight in Nepal. You’ll globe-trot, decipher clues, and face danger so constantly it might as well be on Indy’s business card.

And for those rocking the PS5 Pro? You’re in for a visual treat. The game runs smoother than Indy’s one-liners—at 60fps with high-res textures, near-instant loading thanks to that SSD magic, and a DualSense controller experience that might actually make you feel the whip crack. There’s even lightbar feedback so you’ll know when Indy’s feeling a bit peaky. Oh, and if you’re stuck in a tomb wondering what the hell to do next, Community Game Help is baked right in to nudge you in the right direction without pulling your hair out.

But wait, there’s loot!

Opt for the Premium Edition and you’ll be treated like the treasure-hunting royalty you are. You’ll get early access, the “Last Crusade” Pack, a snazzy Temple of Doom outfit (no chilled monkey brains included), a digital art book for bedtime lore reading, and an upcoming story DLC: The Order of Giants, due later this year.

Even better, the game’s been updated with two shiny new whip moves. “Open Season” lets you tenderise enemies so they take extra damage after a good lashing, and “Sleight of Hand” lets Indy yank weapons clean out of enemy hands like a stage magician with a vendetta.

Where can you play it?

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle swings officially onto PlayStation 5 on 17 April 2025, though you can grab early access now with the Premium Edition. Already available on Xbox Series X | S, PC and Game Pass, there’s really no excuse left not to don the hat and punch some Nazis. Learn more at the official site: indianajones.bethesda.net
