Razer Pay Launches In Malaysia; Pay For Your Stuff With Specialized E-Wallet

With all this cryptocurrency and e-wallet nonsense cropping up since earlier this year, it’s no surprise that Razer plans to branch out to this pathway. The CEO Min-Liang Tan talked about it earlier on and wanted to make Singapore a cashless society.

In any case, during a Malaysian press conference today, Razer has launched its Razer Pay e-wallet here in Malaysia, which means you can start topping it up with real money effective immediately. This project was made possible thanks to a partnership between the green-and-black-laden peripheral company and Berjaya Corporation Berhad.

In a nutshell:

  • Razer Pay is an e-wallet designed for millennials. They can top it up easily, transfer money quickly, and pay everywhere.
  • You can add funds to your Razer Pay account by getting a top-up PIN from 7-Eleven stores.
  • You can also use your bank account to top it up. Take note that the following banks participating in this e-wallet plan are: CIMB, AmBank, Bank Islam, Hong Leong Bank, Maybank, Public Bank, RHB Bank.
  • You can also top up your mobile account via Razer Pay for top telcos like uMobile, Digi, Maxis, and Celcom.
  • Most importantly, you can use your Razer Pay for online transactions involving games. You can buy PIN codes from the following services: zGold MOLPoints, Steam Wallet, Garena, Sony PlayStation, Spotify, iflix, Astro NJOI.
  • Razer Pay allows you to transfer funds to family and friends via a peer-to-peer cash transfer in a few steps.
  • Razer Pay is accepted at over 6,000 retail outlets & F&B spots like 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Singer, Cosway, Wendy’s, Kenny Rogers, Krispy Kreme, and 99 Speedmart.
  • From 4 July to 30 August 2018, Berjaya plans to donate RM10 to the Tabung Harapan Malaysia fund (to reduce the country’s national debt caused by the previous Malaysian regime) with each first use of the Razer Pay wallet at participating Berjaya outlets. These include 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Singer, Cosway, Greyhound Cafe,Wendy’s, Kenny Rogers, and Krispy Kreme.
  • Right now from 4 July to 30 September, Razer Pay users in Malaysia will get RM10 bonus credit when they sign up. You can do that by going to the iOS App Store or Google Play Store now.

The elephant in the room is: will Razer Pay be out in other countries? According to Razer and Min-Liang Tan during the Malaysian press conference, there are plans but no timeline set at the moment, but the company plans to be aggressive in regards to this. Stay tuned to Kakuchopurei.com for more developments.
