Final Fantasy 9 Will Become An Animated Series
Square Enix’s ninth mothership Final Fantasy title, ie the one with the plucky thief, a princess, and all the Final Fantasy tropes & nods being made into a celebrated tribute of a JRPG, is getting animated.
The Final Fantasy 9 animated series will be developed by French animation company Cyber Group Studios in collaboration with Square Enix. According to a kidscreen report, the deal is inked and a project bible is being finished up, while the animation company pitches the show to broadcasters. The company plans to begin production by either the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
If you need a refresher course on FF9‘s plot, why not play the game on PC and current consoles right now? The newest version of the game features a few awesome quality of life changes, like the ability to speed up battles because goddamn they’re pretty dang slow. It’s the best version of arguably the best Final Fantasy out there.
