Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris Guide: Overcoming The Franks
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris expansion is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It’s the latest DLC for the game. While there’s really not much to the expansion besides a few new mechanics like the Black Box infiltration missions, perhaps this brief guide will help a little against the threat of the Franks.
You can also head on over here for our review of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris expansion.
One of the new mechanics in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris, which are basically just randomly generated generic missions you’ll do for a character named Pierre and his merry band of rebels. They’re mostly mindless and repetitive so I get it if you don’t want to waste time on this mechanic.
However, reaching the maximum Infamy level is required to unlock all the Reaper set gear pieces; which is one of only two new gear sets in the expansion. The Rebel Missions are easy so you don’t need tips on how to complete them. However, I can confirm that you only need to do 20 Rebel Missions in order to reach the maximum Infamy level.
To complete Rebel Missions faster, choose the ones that are started as “nearby” since you won’t need to waste even more time just getting to where the Rebel Mission is.
Check out what the fully-upgraded Reaper set looks like below if you need more of an incentive to grind the 20 Rebel Missions:
For the Paladin set, you’ll have to do a bit of exploring as pieces of gear are scattered throughout the new map in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris. Long story short, there are only two new gear sets in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris.
The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The Siege Of Paris only features a measly one new enemy type in the form of Frankish cavalry units. There are two variants of them, but the only difference is that the Heavy Cavalry is stronger than the Light Cavalry.
Basically, the only tip you should know when facing these guys are listed in the Codex entries. However, I would like to emphasize that the most important one is to “wait for them to come to you”. These guys are on horses so you can’t just rush them like any other enemy, especially if you’re using slower weapons like Heavy Axes or broadswords.
I recommend using faster and lighter weapons like the spear to counter the Cavalry enemy units. Just wait for them to come charging at you, then dodge and attack them. They can dish out damage as well as take a lot of it, so be patient with these enemies. There’s even one boss fight where you fight a Cavalry unit, as you can see below:

Finding this legendary sword will check out a region’s wealth immensely. You also get a pretty powerful sword. The quest to find this sword won’t appear on your quest log, so you’ll need to hunt it down the old fashioned way. If you leave straight from Pruvinis, it won’t take you very long to find the sword. If you head northeast from the location, you’ll find Bilhaut close to a river crossing. In these ruins, you’ll see a bunch of dead soldiers lying around and one lone Norse Man. Save your game before continuing. Approach the Norse Man. He’ll tell you his story.
You have three choices after that:
The sword has a power of 500 depending on your power cap level. It also increases your Stun-dealing amount after each hit, up to ten times.
