TGS 2018: Capcom Pulls Devil May Cry 5’s Dante Battle Theme Following Lead Singer Sex Allegations
Deathcore band Suicide Silence recently had a video of its song “Subhuman” and it was being used to promote Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 during TGS 2018.
Not anymore; bless our eardrums. The video was taken down by Capcom after hearing from fans via various social media platforms that the band’s lead singer Eddie Hermida was accused last November of having a sexually inappropriate relationship with a 17-year old fan.
During that Twitter/ResetEra s***storm, many fans have also complained about the song in question. But you be the judge of that…
Capcom provided a statement to Kotaku that it will not promote the song anymore, and are still figuring out how to move forward with regards to the track that’s in-game at the moment.
“The music was recorded for the game before the incident came to light and we were unaware of the incident until now. However, as we are now aware of the current situation, Capcom has decided that moving forward, we will not further highlight the Dante battle theme for promotional purposes at this time.
We are also currently evaluating what options are possible for the full game at this point, which is dependent on various factors such as resources.”
How about you bring back Combichrist? They did a pretty damn good job music-wise with the last Devil May Cry game.
