Former Witcher 3 Devs Fool’s Theory Are Making A New RPG, Project Vitriol
By Alleef AshaariVerified|June 20, 2022|0 Comment
Publisher 11 bit studios and developer Fool’s Theory have announced Project Vitriol, a narrative-driven RPG and the publisher’s largest enterprise to date. However, platforms and a release date were not announced. A full reveal is slated for sometime in summer 2022.
Project Vitriol has a budget of over 17 million zloty (roughly US$3.8 million), which allows for full voice acting and motion capture sessions.
In a press release (via PCGamesN), Fool’s Theory CEO and project lead Jakub Rokosz said:
“Our game is a deep, morally ambiguous narrative-driven RPG. But let me unveil a bit of the real essence: the game is about the esoteric side of reality, that dark part of the world that most of us don’t see and are not aware of. But the darkness—it is there, lurking behind every corner. It watches us closely from the shadows, and whether we know it or not, takes its toll, making sure we’re going to have a debt to pay.
[Vitriol‘s] story begins in a place and time where reality, folklore, energy and mysticism met together in a melting pot: early XX century Warsaw, under imperial Russian tsardom. Global reveal of Project Vitriol coming this summer!”
Those at Fool’s Theory were former developers who worked on The Witcher 3. They previously released Seven The Days Long Gone in 2017, an open-world action RPG game.
