Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal Season 2 Drops This Month
By Alleef Ashaari|July 4, 2022|0 Comment
Genndy Tartakovsky is best known for animated shows like Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory (as well as the Hotel Transylvania films and the 2003 Star Wars Clone Wars animated series), but some of his best animation work has arguably been Primal, which debuted its first season in 2019/2020. Two years later, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal is finally coming out on 21 July 2022.
Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal is a gloriously violent and gory series featuring Spear, a caveman, and Fang, a female T-rex, as they live and travel together across a prehistoric era filled with many dangers like giant monsters, witches and apes. What’s best about the show is that it brings back a lot of the vibes from Samurai Jack but with almost zero dialogue and everything getting conveyed via facial expressions, body language and sound effects/music.
The first season was praised by critics and received many accolades including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. The show currently holds an incredible 100 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. From the trailer, it looks like we’re getting even crazier stuff, including a group of people who seems to have been inspired by the Persian Empire, and a giant Satanic figure.
The first episode of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal Season 2 will air on Adult Swim on 21 July 2022 at midnight before it becomes available to stream on HBO Max the next day.
