Marvel & Riot Games Team Up To Publish League of Legend Comics
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|November 20, 2018|0 Comment
As if creating a pop music video to sell epic skins for your MOBA isn’t enough, the League of Legends franchise is now invading the comic book space. Marvel Comics and Riot Games are teaming up superhero style to publish comics about the LoL universe.
Its first issue will be focused on the first-ever LoL champion Ashe in a comic called League of Legends: Ashe – Warmother. The issues will be released monthly on digital platforms like Marvel’s and Comixology on 19th December onwards, followed by a graphic novel slated for May 2019. Here’s the synopsis:
The first full-length comic series in the League of Legends universe, delivering an epic journey through the Freljord!
Raised in the savage wilds of the north, Ashe is an Iceborn, a warrior gifted with a magical connection to her frozen homeland–and burdened by her mother’s fanatical expectations. When they set out on a dangerous quest for the truth behind an ancient myth, bonds are broken, secrets come to light, and Runeterra is forever changed. Will young Ashe become the leader her people need? Or is destiny merely an empty dream?
Riot Games writer Odin Austin Shafer will be penning the script and words of the series while Nina Vakueva (Heavy Vinyl) will be doing the art. Personally, I can’t wait for Marvel to tackle the rise and fall of KDA in glorious trade paperback form.
