Netflix Announces Neon Genesis Evangelion in 2019, Releases Ultraman Trailer
By Alleef Ashaari|November 27, 2018|1 Comment
It’s going to be a big year for anime fans on Netflix in 2019, and the company has essentially bagged exclusive rights for the worldwide streaming debut of one of the most iconic anime series of all time: Neon Genesis Evangelion.
All 26 episodes of the original 1995 Neon Evangelion Genesis anime will be available on the streaming service, alongside with the 1997 movie The End of Evangelion and 1998 movie Evangelion: Death (True)².
Neon Genesis Evangelion will debut on Netflix globally sometime in Spring 2019, or the first half of 2019. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.

Besides that, we reported earlier in July 2018 that Netflix announced a new Ultraman anime series. Now the streaming giant has released the official trailer for the upcoming CGI reimagining of the iconic Japanese tokusatsu hero, which also reveals its release date.
It’s frankly a bit weird seeing this Ultraman inheriting his powers from his father instead of from alien origins, human-sized instead of giant-sized, and fighting another imposter small-sized Ultraman imposter instead of skyscraper-destroying kaijus.
However, I’ll still be watching it out of my nostalgic love for the franchise when it debuts on April 1, 2019. The new design also looks cool, although a bit too robotic and seemingly taking cues from Neon Genesis Evangelion’s mechas. Check out the trailer below.
