Meet the First Hidden Blade Wielder in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s First DLC Expansion Next Week
By Alleef Ashaari|November 28, 2018|0 Comment
Ubisoft has announced the official release date for the first episode of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s Legacy of the First Blade DLC expansion. It is slated to arrive next week on December 4, 2018.
In Legacy of the First Blade, Kassandra or Alexios will meet Darius, the first ever Assassin to wield the iconic Hidden Blade. He supposedly used it to assassinate his own father, the tyrant Persian king Xerxes.
Players will also be facing a new type of enemy in the upcoming DLC expansion. These Persian soldiers are rampaging through Greece, trying to find and kill all the “tainted ones,” which includes Kassandra/Alexios.
Interestingly, the Legacy of the First Blade launch trailer shows us glimpses of the player’s ship, Adrestia, spewing flames from the bow (front). It looks like Greek Fire, but that won’t be historically accurate.
If you’re a history buff like me, Greek Fire won’t even be invented until centuries later, when it will be used by the Byzantine Roman Empire for the first time in 672 AD. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is supposed to take place in 431 BC.
Keep in mind that the Legacy of the First Blade DLC expansion will be episodic in nature. The developer/publisher has confirmed that each episode will be released six weeks apart, which means that the second and third episodes will probably launch sometime in January and February 2019, respectively.
The Legacy of the First Blade is only the first of two DLC expansions for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with The Fate of Atlantis slated for release in Spring 2019. In the meantime, check out the Legacy of the First Blade launch trailer below.
